Keeping it GREEN...

The Fort Bend NAACP Branch kicks-off its' Community Garden!

In April 2009, First Lady Michelle Obama planted a kitchen garden on the White House’s South Lawn. As fresh vegetables, fruit, and herbs sprouted from the ground, this White House Kitchen Garden inspired a new conversation all across the country about the food we feed our families and the impact it has on the health and well-being of our children. Now Missouri City & Vicinity Branch is sponsoring a Community Garden right here in Fort Bend County.

Benefits for youth:
Community gardening is a healthy, inexpensive activity for youth that can bring them closer to nature, and allow them to interact with each other in a socially meaningful and physically productive way.

Volunteer:
Our programs thrive due to the hard work of many talented volunteers. Volunteering is an excellent way to support community gardening and educational programs.

Donations:
Donations play a vital role in making it possible to provide community gardening. Donations of Materials and Professional Services is always appreciated.
